Autumn Concert

Our autumn concert at St. John’s Church, Hurst Green, was well attended as usual. Our programme was varied and included the march Knight Templar, The Barber of Seville, The Jazz Waltz and a London Celebration as well as solos, a duet and a cornet feature.

Successful Spring Concert

We had a very successful spring concert with a programme packed with music from the movies. We featured no less than 7 soloists representing every section of the band from the smallest (soprano cornet) to the largest (bass).

Spring clean up

Spurred on by the promise of Stephie’s homemade cakes, we had a very productive morning cleaning and tidying the band room and grounds.

Christmas Concert

Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas concert on Saturday, the church was packed and it was lovely to see so many children in the audience. We played a seasonal programme which included Christmas Festival, Immanuel and Christmas Joy. We featured solos from Kevin (cornet) and Ben (Euphonium), a cornet duet by Hannah and Olivia and the whole of the trombone section played Christmas Tidings. We have several talented singers in the band and both Andy and Olivia sang solos. Thank you to our audience for their enthusiastic participation in singing the carols.

Stars of Brass

We had an excellent ‘Stars of Brass’ concert with the fabulous Gary Curtin. The audience were particularly enthralled by his performance of Carnival of Venus.

The band repertoire included Army of the Nile, Doyen and Buglers Holiday.
